Lily White relocated to our sanctuary, Simbonga.

Mission Accomplished #6… Lioness Relocated

The Last Lion. Welcome home Lily…..
Our hearts are beaming with happiness as our Pride has grown by one beautiful soul. Lily White took her very first steps in her new fur-ever home at our Sanctuary, Simbonga Game Farm & Sanctuary early on the morning of December 16th, 2021. She was very scared and uncertain, but Mrs White quickly comforted her with welcoming moans and groans ensuring that she was now safe.
Rescued from a previous breeding facility that has been shut down, Lily White is said to be the first white lioness born in the Eastern Cape. Lily is officially the last lion to leave that place and find security in her very own peaceful retirement home with us at Simbonga, right next to Mrs. White, who was her previous neighbor and friend.
Seeing them be reunited, albeit in separate enclosures, brought tears to our eyes as they showed recognition immediately and found comfort in each other’s presence.
Lily was born in 2002 making her 19 at the time of her relocation(Dec 2021). Much like Mrs. White, her age is always a concern as the average life expectancy for a lion in captivity is +-20 years.
During her relocation, she was found to have a very overgrown claw that was puncturing into the pad of her foot, but all was sorted and she was given a full mani/pedi.
Lily is now up to date with her vaccinations, has received parasite treatment, and a full physical exam. She is quite overweight, which our Team will begin to manage with a specially formulated nutrition plan inclusive of added vitamins and supplements. Blood work is currently being processed and we keep our thoughts positive while we wait for the results.
This has been an extremely emotional journey, and the Warriors Team is very thankful for all involved to make this possible for Lily and ALL the animals that have been safely re-homed from the facility that was shut down. She deserves the World, and now we can give her a small piece of that for the rest of her years.
Rescue Never Stops. If Lily’s story has touched you, please consider donating towards our work and her ongoing care.

For us to continue this work we need your support. Please share our work and if you can HELP US TO HELP THE ANIMALS please DONATE HERE at www.warriorsofwildlife.org/donations
